The new LSAP minister used the firm as an example to show that even rural parts of Luxembourg like Wiltz are becoming global players in the domain of technology. Circuit Foil is the worldwide leader in the production of high-value copper foil, which is used in cutting-edge technologies. These include optimised data transmission and car batteries.
The firm based in Wiltz employs some 300 people and puts a special emphasis on research and innovation. The €36.5 million investment will allow Circuit Foil to increase its production by a third, providing the firm with the opportunity to work more in the infrastructure market, i.e. by focusing on antennas, base stations, and 5G technology captures.
Extended production will also allow the firm to develop its products and connected objects for the use of autonomous vehicles. Circuit Foil established itself in Wiltz's national industrial zone back in 1961. As of 2014, the firm belongs to the Korean group Doosan. Previously, it belonged to ArcelorMittal.
