The demonstration will take place outside the Chamber of Deputies from 3pm to 6pm on Friday afternoon. The young protesters are hoping to put pressure on the government so that those responsible finally present a concrete national plan, which has not been done in public or in parliament.

The dossier was meant to be sent to Brussels before the end of the year - a deadline the Grand Duchy is sure to miss.

Youth for Climate Luxembourg reiterated that this would be a pacifist protest. Participants are asked to wear warm clothing, bring camping chairs and flasks of hot drinks to keep warm.

Luxembourg is not the only country experiencing demonstrations this Friday.  People in more than 150 nations worldwide will mobilise in favour of a consistent climate policy that respects the Paris Agreement and will aim to limit global warming well above 2°C, if possible keeping it at 1.5°C.

The COP25 will begin in Madrid on Monday where 200 states will assemble until 13 December under Chilean presidency.
