Nearly five years after its local branch office was forced to close, the National Health Fund (CNS) has confirmed that it will maintain a presence in Ettelbruck, but at a different location.

The former CNS branch office has remained closed since July 2021, following severe damage caused by the summer floods that year. Since then, only a letterbox outside the building has been available for mail delivery.

Upon enquiry, the CNS confirmed to RTL that it would not reopen the original site. Citing an unwillingness to invest significant sums in renovating a building located within a flood zone, the CNS instead began searching for an alternative. That search has now concluded.

The CNS plans to relocate to the Nordstad Administrative Centre, currently under construction on the grounds of the former cigarette factory at the southern entrance to Ettelbruck. The building is expected to be completed by mid-2026, with the CNS aiming to open its new branch office in early 2027.

According to the CNS, the location was chosen for its accessibility by car, public transport, bicycle, and on foot. The authority also cited the proximity of Ettelbruck’s out-of-hours medical centre and other planned public services as an additional advantage.
