Following memorial ceremonies in Wiltz and Differdange, another ceremony took place in memory of the victims of the general strike against the forced recruitment during Nazi occupation of Luxembourg.

The memorial took place on the site of the Post group at Cloche d'Or. In 1942, two postal workers were gunned down by German soldiers for participating in the general strike.

Around 20 people took part in the ceremony on Thursday afternoon, including members of the victims' families, and Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot.
   
Fayot paid tribute to the victims who put their lives on the line in order to defend their values, and warned against forces which would always seek to disrupt our values.
