Philharmonie performanceConductor in stable condition after fainting mid-performance

Robert Ziegler was conducting 'Taxi Driver' accompanied by a live orchestra when he fell forward mid-performance.

The ciné-concert 'Taxi Driver' on Saturday was immediately cancelled.

An RTL Today source attending the concert described that the moment took place 30 minutes into the movie, a scene when the orchestra was not playing. Suddenly, the conductor fell face-forward.

Several audience members from the front rows immediately jumped on stage and began first aid procedures, giving chest compressions. The stage manager swiftly entered and announced the concert would be cancelled. An ambulance arrived within 10 minutes, the source told RTL Today.

He added: "The room was in complete silence. Imagine more than 1,000 people in silence. You can imagine the shock, everyone was moving very, very slowly."

According to latest information, Ziegler is in a stable condition and has been recovering from the incident. The conductor tweeted on Sunday that he just had issues with adrenaline and not having eaten dinner. He also quipped that "the good thing about conducting orchestras is that there's always a doctor in the house."

Initially, reports suggested heart issues, but Ziegler has since dismissed the notion.
