Corona cash controversyConsumers still need to be able to pay cash: ministry

RTL Today
The ministries of finance and of consumer protection reiterated that consumers still need to have the option to pay cash if they so desire.

The ministries conceded that it was nevertheless understandable that stores urge clients to pay by card if possible.

They appealed to mutual respect and common sense. Vulnerable individuals in particular often do not have the option to pay by card and should therefore still have the option to pay cash if needed, the ministries explained in a press release.

Stores are urged to accept cash payments.
