On Tuesday, officers conducted searches of the dependent services of the General Directorate of Police, as well as the Directorate of the Northern Region of the police as part of a judicial investigation.
The judicial administration confirmed that the investigation was targeting the Director of the North Region of the Police, who is suspected of illegal taking of interest and computer fraud.
The spokesperson wished to make it clear that anyone charged with an offence is presumed innocent until proven guilty by law.
