Court Marshall Lucien Weiler is due to retire after four years of service. Weiler took over from Pierre Bley in January 2016, who followed Pierre Mores who was Court Marshall for six years up to 2013.
According to our sources, the change is due to be announced soon but will take place at a later date.
Weiler was only due to stay in the role until the end of 2019, as agreed with the Grand Duke, but the former president of the Chamber of Deputies stayed on slightly longer. He took over from Bley, who only remained in the role for two and a half hours.
Upon inquiry, RTL was told that the exact departure date would be communicated. There is also no information on any successors.
Weiler was the president of the Chamber of Deputies between 2004 and 2009, but decided to no longer stand for election in 2013. He had been an MP for the CSV since 1989.
