Kuzmyn is considered an important figure in a criminal organisation, which was active in the Grand Duchy in 2019 and renowned for stealing an extensive range of expensive cars with keyless locks.
The organisation made use of a defect in the mechanism to break into the vehicles and start them without actually having the keys. They stole a number of cars in Luxembourg City, Dippach, Kayl, Bertrange, Rodange, Bridel, and Mamer. Since 2020, Kuzmyn has been considered one of "Europe’s most wanted fugitives".
He was now arrested in Georgia by local authorities, who received help and intel from the Luxembourgish department for wanted fugitives.
Since there is an arrest warrant for Kuzmyn in the Grand Duchy, he will be extradited, the prosecutor's office further announced.
