50 years of mountaineering federationDigital IVV hiking tour benefiting Echternach

For most people, hiking means long tours in the countryside in pleasant company.

But Covid put an end to this for many people. The Federation had to cancel 32 hiking tours and lost more than half of its members.

"Digital" hikes have taken over instead. Just like last year, the IVV hike will be organised in Echternach this 15 August, and all proceeds from entry fees will go to the population of the town that was so badly hit by the floods.

Participants can choose between distances of 6, 11 or 15 km.

The first IVV hike was organised in May 1971 and has been a constant throughout 50 years of the mountaineering federation. Even if Covid has turned hiking from a group to an individual sport, the hikers don't intend to give up!
