At 7am on Tuesday morning, a car burst into flames for unknown reasons while travelling towards Luxembourg City on the A6. The incident took place near the Mamer/Capellen exit.
Shortly afterwards, a second accident took place on the same road, in the direction of Arlon. A van driver lost control of his vehicle, which rolled over several times before landing on its roof. The emergency services had to remove the driver from the wreckage and take him to hospital.
The motorway was closed towards Belgium to allow access to the emergency services and clean up teams. Traffic resumed as normal at 9am. At present, no link has been established between the two incidents.
