On Sunday afternoon, police received a report of a man causing a disturbance at a café in Dudelange, where he had reportedly been insulting and shouting at customers and staff. A patrol dealt with the man, whose breathalyser test came back positive, and he was placed in a sobering cell.
Shortly afterwards, another person was reported to be behaving in a similar manner at Place du Benelux in Esch-sur-Alzette. This individual was also far from cooperative with the officers and had to be restrained on safety grounds. After a medical check, they were taken into custody.
In Differdange, officers were called out at 2am on Sunday because a group of drunk individuals had turned unruly. Officers noted one man in particular who was under the influence of alcohol. Attempts to calm him down came to nothing, and the man even came to blows with one of the officers, after which he had to be restrained. He did not calm down and continued hurling insults at officers, before spending the rest of the night in custody.
