Nocturnal rides Drunk drivers apprehended, tipsy cyclist forgets curfew

Police officers on patrol spotted a cyclist trying awfully hard to keep his balance on his bike around 2 a.m. near Avenue Marie-Thérèse in the capital.

In addition to not having respected the curfew in force, his breathalyzer test was positive, which doubled his problems. The man was slapped with a fine.

A motorist was caught speeding along Avenue de la Porte-Neuve on Saturday evening around 10.30 pm. Officers had to give chase in order to apprehend him, and the man also tested over the limit. He was fined and points added to his licence.

In Differdange, a driver did his best to lose police on his tail at around 2 am. on Sunday morning. The man was e eventually brought to a halt and fined for drunk driving and for curfew violation. His passenger was also fined for not respecting the curfew.

Finally, a similar situation took place in Troisvierges, again at around 2 am on Sunday. A vehicle, with four people on board, was  found to be zigzagging along the Grand-rue. All were fined because they were driving in direct violation of the curfew and the driver additionally had his license confiscated on the spot after testing positive for alcohol.
