
The former teacher received an eight-year suspended prison sentence (probationary suspension), paired with a court-ordered psychological follow-up. He will also be prohibited from working in the public service for a period of ten years. The parents and siblings of one of his victims, who died by suicide after the abuse, obtained €3,000 in damages.
The accused, who had worked for the management at a secondary school in Bonnevoie, was prosecuted for the rape of a minor. At the time of the incident, the victims were aged between 15 and 17 years old.
The crimes dated back to the periods of October 2011-October 2012 and October 2014-September 2016.
The prosecution initially requested a ten year prison sentence for the suspended teacher.
