According to police, the car came off the road around 9.15pm, resulting in a full-frontal crash into a wall. The woman, who was alone in the vehicle, passed away at the scene from her injuries.
The stretch of road was closed for several hours to allow access to the emergency services.
This is the second fatal accident this week after two men died in a pile-up on the A7 motorway on Wednesday.
