
At around 2.30am a car was involved in an accident in a left-hand bend at Aire de Wasserbillig. No one was injured, but the driver’s alcohol test was positive and a provisional driving ban was imposed.
At around 1.10am, a motorist was reported in Rollingen because of two flat tyres and a broken headlight. The driver damaged 3 cars parked on the road, as well as an electricity box. A police patrol was able to stop him and proceeded with an alcohol test, which was positive. The driver’s licence was confiscated on the spot.
In Luxembourg-City, on Rue Jospeh Junk, a car’s front bumper was hanging on the ground while driving. Here, too, the alcohol test was positive and the driver’s licence was confiscated.
On Saturday evening at around 7.50pm, a lorry driver was reported on the A1 who wanted to park in the wrong direction on the motorway. An alcohol test was carried out and showed that he had drunk too much. He lost his licence.
Shortly before Ingeldorf on Route d’Ettelbruck, a motorist was reported zigzagging. Too much alcohol was involved, and the driver’s licence was confiscated.
There was also an alcohol test ordered by the prosecutor’s office on Sunday between 1.30am and 3am in Strassen on Route d’Arlon. 47 drivers were checked and in 4 cases the alcohol test was positive. In one case the driver’s licence was directly confiscated.
