
The authorities distributed alerts around the area to prevent any walkers from getting near the hunt. The below alert, applying to the Athus and Guerlange forests in Belgium, states that the forests are not accessible to the public due to organised hunts as a means to curb the wild boar population.

The army is also present in the area, as our photographer has reported. After Thursday's hunt concluded, the hunters announced they had shot five wild boars and found two rotting cadavers during the hunt.
