Upper Sûre LakeForest fire breaks out again

The forest fire which had been brought under control on Wednesday has reignited. Fire fighters arrived on site on Friday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, a fire destroyed 2 hectares of forest near the Upper Sûre Lake in Bavigne. Ten people had to be evacuated and 150 fire fighters were on site.

The Grand Ducal Fire and Rescue Corps (CGDIS) announced on Friday morning that the fire had broken out again. Large smoke clouds could be spotted around the area.

Fire fighters are on site and have asked the general public to avoid the area, especially the N26.
