Two weeks ago, a robbery took place at a flat in Luxembourg City’s Gare district. Two women working as prostitutes were reportedly threatened with a weapon by two assailants and forced to hand over cash, mobile phones and the key to the property. Initial investigations indicate that one of the alleged perpetrators was the women’s former pimp.
Following an inquiry led by the police department responsible for tackling serious organised crime, the two suspects were apprehended on 4 and 12 February respectively. Both men appeared before an investigating judge on 13 February at the instruction of the public prosecutor’s office. They are currently under investigation on suspicion of human trafficking, pimping, and robbery.
In a separate incident on Sunday afternoon, a fight broke out between two individuals on a train stationed at Kautenbach. During the altercation, a glass train door was damaged. One of the men was located by a police patrol but reportedly behaved in an uncooperative manner. He was subsequently arrested on the orders of the public prosecutor after it emerged that he was already known to authorities abroad. He appeared before an investigating judge on Monday morning.
