Gingrich, who was Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999, will take part in meetings with leaders from the space sector from September 22-24.

The US Ambassador to Luxembourg, J. Randolph Evans, said:

“The former Speaker is one of the most historic statesmen alive today having lead a political revolution in 1994, been named the Time Magazine’s ‘Man of the Year’ in 1995, crafted the ‘Contract with America’, and through his work with President Bill Clinton, helped reform welfare in America, balanced the federal budget, and strengthened America’s defenses throughout the world.
He has consistently been a thought leader in the areas of space and space exploration.  It will be an incredible honor to have him here to meet the brilliant and accomplished people that has made the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg so special and always one step ahead of the times -- into space and beyond.”

Gingrich, formerly a contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, is a high-profile supporter of President Donald Trump.
