CoronavirusFourth dose invitations to be sent out to over 80s

However, Luxembourg health officials specify that the fourth dose can only be given to people over 80 years of age if the last injection of the Covid-19 vaccine was given more than four months ago.

This second booster has been recommended by the European Medicines Agency and the Superior Council for Infectious Diseases.

About 12,000 people will therefore be contacted by Health from next week in Luxembourg to make an appointment for the injection of the fourth dose.

However, as of Saturday at 1pm, the vaccination centres in Belval and in Ettelbrück are closing their doors to the public. The only vaccination centre that remains open is the Victor Hugo Hall on Limpertsberg, though the so-called ‘Impfbus’ (vaccination bus) will be launched from next Tuesday onwards.

Here are the next dates and places of the Impfbus:

• Tuesday 19/04/2022 from 12 to 6 pm: P+R Bouillon, Luxembourg-City
• Wednesday 20/04/2022 from 12 to 4 pm: Belle-Étoile Shopping Centre, Bertrange
• Thursday 21/04/2022 from 12 to 4 pm: Zone industrielle Cloche d’Or, Luxembourg-City

Further locations of the ‘Impfbus on tour’ will be announced shortly on www.impfen.lu. First-time and booster vaccinations are done without an appointment, but make sure to bring your identity card and CNS card.
