The leadership body of Luxembourg’s National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) will welcome two new members in November.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday by the Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy and Minister for Justice Élisabeth Margue, Philippe Ney – formerly a lawyer at Kleyr-Grasso – has been appointed as the new CNPD president. Andreea Monnat, who previously worked at the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), will also join the collegiate body.
Outgoing president Tine Larsen and board member Thierry Lallemang have both completed their six-year mandates. As Larsen explained last week, the CNPD will now have an expanded mandate: in addition to its responsibility for data protection, it will coordinate the work of eight authorities tasked with overseeing artificial intelligence in Luxembourg.
