Petitions commissionFrom Uber in Luxembourg to shorter school holidays: 40 petitions await approval

RTL Today
Members of the Chamber's petitions committee have work to do after the summer break.

Around 40 petitions are waiting for approval to be published on the government website. If they meet publishing criteria, the public will have 42 days to sign them.

As always, the topics covered by the petitions are varied.

One, proposed by Jerry Klein, suggests reducing school holidays to 6 weeks in the summer. André Steffen has suggested reimbursement from the National Health Fun for psychologist appointments, and René Hamel would like Uber to operate in the Grand Duchy.

There are also proposed petitions concerning the forest fires in the Amazon, taxation of widows, and water prices. Each individual proposal must be checked, and decisions will be made by the next committee meeting in two weeks' time.

One petition which is to be debated in the Chamber is that of Ana Pinto, seeking to obtain free Adapto transport for people with reduced mobility. After the petition passed the necessary number of signatures by some measure (5,900 signatures, with 4,500 required for debate), the relevant Minister François Bausch announced that this transport system would be reformed.
