Leader of LSAP parliamentary groupGeorges Engel infected with Covid-19

RTL Today
The leader of the LSAP parliamentary group, Georges Engel, learned last weekend that he had tested positive for Covid-19.

Since then, the MP has been quarantined at home. He is expected to remain there until 5 October.

Georges Engel himself confirmed the information, which was first published by the newspaper Luxemburger Wort, to RTL.

The MP from the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) stated that he felt tired and had the typical symptoms of Covid-19. He hopes that he has not infected anyone, especially during his travels, during the session of the Chamber of Deputies last week, or during the LSAP Parliamentary Day.

Engel further specified that he was extremely well supervised, both by the members of the tracing group and by his entourage.

Some of the parliamentary group's employees and several MPs who had been in contact with Engel were preventively placed in quarantine. However, none of these people have tested positive so far. Some will be released from quarantine on Wednesday, the others during the weekend.
