Police from Luxembourg and Germany worked together to catch car thieves in an example of excellent cross-border collaboration.

Two cars were stolen in the vicinity of Ettelbruck on 30 July, namely an Aston Martin and a Mini. The cars' owner was lightly injured in the altercation.

The German police were able to find and arrest the thieves in Daun, in the Eifel region.

The police seized both vehicles in addition to revealing that the 18 and 19-year-old perpetrators had also stolen a Volkswagen Golf in Munich.

The Luxembourgish public prosecutor's office is in the process of requesting the extradition of the thieves.
