This spring, a deficit of €100 million was identified in Luxembourg’s national health insurance system. To address this shortfall, a package of measures amounting to approximately €95 million was proposed to balance the accounts.

A review of these measures is scheduled for Wednesday in Dudelange, where government officials, social partners, and healthcare service providers will evaluate their effectiveness.

However, further increases to social security contributions have not been ruled out. Among the options being considered is a possible raise of 0.125% in contributions from both employers and insured individuals.
