Minister of Transportation François Bausch and Prime Minister Xavier Bettel were both present during the Thursday visit. Significant about the buildings are the solar panels installed on their roofs, which have successfully passed a testing phase and turned operational since the beginning of the year. The produced energy is directly fed into the Creos grid.

32 wagons can be stationed inside the facilities, which also have rooms for administrative work and training programmes. Currently, 40 tram conductors are being instructed in Kirchberg.

The tram is set to reach the Gare quarter as scheduled in December. The distance between the train station and the place de l'Etoile is 2.2 km long, with four stops currently envisioned. The connection is hoped to relief some of the pressure experienced by businesses in the Gare quarter due to the lengthy construction work.

The tram grid is supposed to be further extended to connect both Findel airport and Kockelscheuer. This means that 3.9 km of railwork still have to be installed until the end of 2023.
