Bars, restaurantsHoresca urges members to respect rules to avoid second lockdown

More and more countries across Europe have added restrictions, forcing bars and restaurants to close early in an attempt to curb the spread of coronavirus. Luxembourg's Horesca federation has reminded its members to continue paying strict attention to the health measures in place in the Grand Duchy, saying that even partial closures have been harmful to the sector.

• Each table may only accommodate a maximum of 10 people, unless they are from the same household;
• Customers may only be served if seated;
• Tables placed side by side must be separated by a distance of at least 1.5 metres or by a barrier or physical separation if this distance is not possible;
• Wearing a mask is compulsory for customers when they are not seated at their table;
• Wearing a mask is compulsory for staff in direct contact with customers;
• Establishments must close no later than midnight without exemption.

Horesca thanked the majority of its members who have put restrictions in place to guarantee health security for their staff and customers, thus helping to curb the spread of the virus.
