Fuel prices in Luxembourg have fallen by several cents since May, but remain higher than before the start of the conflict in the Middle East.
As of Sunday, 14 June, diesel is selling at €1.753 per litre, while 95-octane unleaded petrol (SP95) is priced at €1.733 per litre. This represents a difference of 30 cents per litre compared to prices at the end of February. As a result, filling a 50-litre tank will currently cost drivers around €87.
Regardless of ongoing peace negotiations between the United States and Iran, fuel prices in Luxembourg are due to drop by five cents per litre from 1 July. This reduction is linked to one of the measures agreed during the most recent tripartite social dialogue.
Despite recent increases, Luxembourg continues to offer some of the most competitive fuel prices in the region.
In France, for example, Moselle petrol stations are charging at least €1.95 per litre for diesel, while petrol prices range from €1.92 to €1.99 per litre. In Belgium, the maximum legal price for diesel is set at €2.065 per litre, and €1.874 for 95-octane unleaded petrol (SP95).
