They might look like toys at first glance, but these high-performance remote-control cars have little in common with the ones many remember from childhood bedrooms. At this professional level, a model car can cost around €2,000, reflecting the advanced technology packed into each miniature racer.

Success on the Howald track is not just about speed. Drivers rely on precision, quick reactions, and smart strategy to complete fast laps. Technical preparation is meticulous: for instance, tyres are pre-heated to improve grip on the circuit, a technique borrowed from full-size motorsports, only scaled down to fit the miniature world.

The championship drew both seasoned professionals and dedicated hobbyists. Some participants have turned their passion into a career, while others continue to race simply for the love of remote-control driving.

The Howald circuit is renowned for its demanding layout. Organisers from the Luxembourg Model Car Club (LMCC) describe it as especially challenging due to its elevation changes. Luka Jovicic from the LMCC committee explains that the Luxembourg track is famous for its altitude differences, with the highest point being two metres above the rest of the track.

Among drivers, the circuit is considered one of the best in Europe. German professional driver Marc Rheinard said that it could have a bit more grip, but for him, it is one of the most beautiful and best tracks.

Throughout the European Championship weekend, drivers from multiple countries converged on Luxembourg to compete on the demanding mini circuit. Whether professional or amateur, all gave their maximum effort on the track, fuelled by technical skill, training, and a deep passion for the sport.
