The first Impuls house opened its doors in Luxembourg City in 1997. A second facility in Ettelbruck was established in 2017, followed by a third one in Esch as of this year. Since 40% of those interested in the services the Impuls houses provide are from Luxembourg's south, the new facility seems like a natural expansion of the non-profit's services.
The non-profit "Solidarité Jeunes" will offer helpful services to young people between 13 and 21 who have come in contact with drugs. As of October, the new facility has already taken in 50 young people.
However, Impuls' staff is also present in schools: A total of three psychotherapists are currently working in Esch. They are, among other things, informing teachers about the best ways to deal with the issue of drug abuse. According to the facility's management, six employees would be ideal in order to better carry out this sort of prevention work.
