In a Monday press release, Minister of Equality between Women and Men Taina Bofferding emphasises that significant progress has been made over the course of the past five years, efforts which are now beginning to bear fruit. Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot also appreciates the progress and promises to keep contributing to these "positive dynamics".

In 2015, women representing the government in public institutions made up 30.34%, a rate which has now surpassed the 40% mark. The total rate of women on administrative boards of public institutions has reached 34.99%, compared to 27.41% five years ago; while the number of women representing the government for companies has risen from 24,69% in 2015 to 31.14%.
In order to achieve 40% representation of women on all boards of directors of public establishments, 21 mandates out of a total of 423 mandates should still be held by female directors.

Bofferding praised the State's commitments to gender equality and said social partners were invited to continue to support gender equality in economic decision-making.
