Good news for parents: On 25 January 2022, they will be receiving a higher family allowance.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel confirmed the re-indexation of the allowance in October. The amount of €265 (per child) is to be increased by 2.5%, to around €271.625.
While the sum will be officially increased on 1 January, there will also be a retroactive effect for the months of October, November, and December 2021.
The additional income due to the re-indexation will be paid “at the end of January 2022", the Children’s Future Fund (CAE) has confirmed. The same will apply to the differential allowances.
Beneficiaries do not need to take any action.
