
The interest rates granted to households for mortgage loans fell during the month of May in Luxembourg, reduced by up to 1.38% on a variable rate credit, and up to 1.33% for a fixed rate credit. According to the Bank, they fell slightly for variable rate loans, but remained stable for the fixed rate (from 1.34 to 1.33%).
The amounts granted for a variable rate loan were estimated to be 191 million euros, while 436 million euros were loaned to households at variable rates.
The average rate for consumer loans over one to five years in May was 2.44%, in a slight increase.
