Kehlen fox attacksLab results rule out possibility of rabies and distemper

The local animal suspected to be responsible for three bite attacks in recent weeks was shot and recovered on 10 November.

The carcass was subsequently brought to a laboratory from the Veterinary Inspection. Analyses confirmed that the fox was neither suffering from rabies, nor from distemper. These results were also confirmed by foreign and independent research facilities.

A respective press release concludes that the bite attacks were likely irregular incidents.

A possible explanation is that the animal may have been fed by humans and therefore made the connection between people and food.
