The media attention surrounding the project to build a crèche in Hovelange has recently increased following the felling of ten trees in a protected area by the owner of the premises, Barbara Agostino, without authorisation.

The lawyer representing the owner of several crèches refutes point by point the accusations that have been abundantly reported in the media, such as the favouritism Ms Agostino allegedly took advantage of in order to continue her work. The delay in the Ministry's decision to order a work stoppage on June 25 in particular has been pointed out numerous times in the media.

According to Schonckert, the facts and the chronology of events clearly show that the accusations are nothing more than empty words.

This week, the newspaper Luxemburger Wort revealed that searches in connection with the planned crèche project in Hovelange had been carried out at the Ministry of the Environment. The investigation is to look into the illegal destruction of a biotope and violation of the nature protection law. Investigators have yet to determine what sanctions could be taken against Ms Agostino.

The lawyer pleads for the acquittal of his client, who hopes that this controversy will soon come to an end.
