The company will use special cars equipped with multiple high-resolution cameras to capture 360-degree panoramic views of the city until 30 June.
Representatives of Luxembourg City explained that the photographs will be analysed to gauge the specific needs of the municipality. The panoramic images are used to improve the condition of the city's street network. In other words, the goal of the large-scale enterprise is the maintenance of public infrastructure as well as urban planning.
Privacy will be protected by blurring pictures of registration plates and individuals.
