Along with six other countries, Luxembourg will support NASA in their Artemis programme.

The project aims at putting one male and one female astronaut from the USA on the moon until 2024. The long-term goal is to establish a permanent base on Earth's most prominent satellite.

Minister of the Economy Franz Fayot signed an agreement formalising the cooperation between NASA and the Luxembourg Space Agency.

Sources from within the Ministry confirmed that NASA chose the Grand Duchy mainly due to its know-how in the area of space resources.

Further details will follow during a press conference at noon on Wednesday.
