The Luxembourg government will continue humanitarian aid in Afghanistan and especially focus on women's rights, a press release from the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs on Wednesday evening conveys. The situation is currently being analysed by people on the ground, after which they will revaluate the form of support that Luxembourg can provide.
In 2021, Luxembourg has already helped finance projects in Afghanistan with €2.35 million. Between 2001 and 2020, the Grand Duchy spent about €48 million, most notably in the form of contributions to the United Nations and international non-profits.
