ULC made use of the press release to encourage clients to make the transition as soon as possible. Due to an EU directive on banking security, tokens are to be replaced by the LuxTrust mobile and scan system.

Over the course of next year, every client will have to make the transition. ULC recommends that people log on to their banking profiles and follow the respective instructions, which every national bank should have made available by now. ULC also ensures that the structure of the online banking system will remain unaffected by the transition.

According to LuxTrust officials, the company has already been encouraging their clients to switch to their mobile system for the past two years. A spokesperson has meanwhile stated that it is not yet clear whether the transition will indeed become mandatory.

ULC further explains that clients can download the LuxTrust mobile app in the App Store or on Google Play. Clients should then be able to log in and find out which further steps to follow. ULC recommends that people contact their bank via phone if they run into trouble.
