When police arrived on the scene, the man had disappeared. Officers were able to prevent him from returning to continue the attack. It later transpired he was married to the victim, although he informed officers that nothing had happened. The couple were both taken to the police station.
The prosecutor's office ordered that the man be arrested. On Tuesday morning he was brought before judges, before being remanded in custody.
