
Police received reports of a man with a knife and a firearm on Avenue d'Oberkorn, Differdange, at around 1am on Monday. A patrol located the man on Rue Menager, where they confiscated a pocket knife, brass knuckles, and a firearm. The individual admitted the gun was a replica. He was brought to the police station for processing, and all weapons were removed from his possession.
In Luxembourg City, a person was taken into custody after shoplifting in the Gare district shortly after 3pm. When police apprehended the individual, they found him to be heavily intoxicated, struggling to stay on his feet and having difficulty speaking. He was deemed a danger to himself and others and was taken for a medical check, before being placed in a cell to sober up.
Earlier in the day, police received reports of two youths searching a handbag on Rue Nicolas Martha, Bonnevoie, before discarding it in a bin. Officers located the bag and were able to reunite it with its owner, who explained it had been stolen from her car some time before. A patrol found the two youngsters on Rue du Couvent in Howald, where a brief search revealed the victim's stolen bank cards. The two thieves were taken to the police station for processing.
In Heffingen, police were called out before 6am on Monday after a break-in at a building site. The intruders stole a number of tools and copper cables. An investigation was launched.
