The bus driver informed the police when he became aware of a man assaulting a woman on his bus late on Friday evening (12 July).
The quick-thinking driver stopped outside a police station, where a policeman was able to step in.
However, during an attempt to arrest the man in question, the latter defended himself, attacking the officer and trying to flee on foot.
As a consequence, three people were injured, notably the policeman, the bus driver, and an individual who stepped in to help.
As well as having to answer a case of assault, the police have pressed charges against the man for resisting arrest.
