
During his speech, FLNS president Marco Stacchiotti returned to the issue of lacking infrastructure. He underlined that an increasing number of children are no longer taught how to swim as a result of there not being enough pools in the country. He further drew attention to the fact that about 27,000 people drown in Europe each year.
When it comes to the pandemic, FLNS officials believe that it was easiest for swimmers to continue a more or less normal training routine. Other sports, such as water polo or synchronised swimming, however, suffered considerably more due to social distancing rules.
The final announcement of the day was the appointment of former swimmer Bob Ulveling to the administrativ council of the federation.
