Luxembourgish authorities ordered a recall for ‘Belgian Quality’ marinated boar steaks sold by Aldi on Wednesday afternoon. According to the press release, the steaks may be contaminated with salmonella. Products affected by the recall have a use-by date of 09/11/2022.
Salmonella may cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhoea, fever, and headache within 6-72 hours of consumption. These symptoms may be aggravated in young children, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly. People who have consumed these products and show these symptoms are advised to consult a doctor and report their consumption.
If you bought a potentially contaminated product, you are asked not to consume it and return it to the shop. Aldi has stated that returned products will be refunded (also without receipt).
