On Tuesday, Turmes presented new measures to promote solar energy, notably a call for tenders for the construction and operation of new and larger solar power plants. Submissions should be handed in to the ministry before March.
This measure is one of several aiming to ensure the country reaches its target of having 11% of its energy produced by renewable energy by 2020. However, the minister is unable to provide more detailed information on the subject before the middle of next year.
