Trier and Saarland police cooperated to bring Eva, 16, into safety. She was placed in custody by the Grand Ducal police on Sunday afternoon, and was taken to a Luxembourgish hospital for treatment, according to an update given by her mother.
The family are said to be relieved at Eva's return.
An investigation has been launched into Eva's disappearance and the surrounding circumstances, in order to rule out potential criminal activity.
