Over the weekend, the new vaccine bus made a stop at the e-Lake music festival in Echternach. Anybody was able to walk in without prior appointment and get vaccinated right at the entry to the festival site. People were also able to chose which shot they preferred: Pfizer/BionTech or Johnson&Johnson. The only thing that one had to bring was a valid proof of identity, as well as a social security details.
Dr Thibaud Thomas, who helped administer shots over the weekend, commented: "People who got their first shot here with us can later take an appointment at a GP to get the second dose once it's time."
It was difficult to say how many of the people who made use of the opportunity were actually going to the festival. Nevertheless, enthusiasm was significant enough to call the operation a success.
The mobile vaccine centre will be present during most upcoming events where large crowds assemble. On Wednesday, the bus will be outside den Atelier in Luxembourg City, while it will move to Glacis in Limpertsberg on Thursday, where German rapper Sido will play a live show.
