In Luxembourg:

• Confirmed cases of coronavirus rose by 39 to 2,843, as the number of deaths jumped by 5 to 41.

• Luxembourg is making preparations for an influenza pandemic, while a new website has been set up to help people recognise misinformation and fake news.

• The CSV expressed their support for the government's economic stabilisation plan, but suggested four measures that could be implemented.

• The Fischer bakery chain has stopped accepting cash payments from its customers to prevent virus transmission.

• Police recorded a total of 180 violations of social distancing measures over the weekend.

• Residents of India's biggest slum fear they will be hit hard by the virus, while doctors in Pakistan have been arrested for protesting about working conditions.

• The United States is bracing for its hardest week, as the country warned China not to exploit the virus for its own purposes in the South China Sea.

• Japan is introducing a state of emergency, and has proposed a $1 trillion stimulus, while a tigertested positive in the Bronx Zoo.

• Europe is worried about the spread of coronavirus in crowded prisons, but the Grand Est region of France has reported a fall in hospital admissions for the first time.
