
An average of 53 people a day visit the prévention-suicide.lu website set up by the Ministry of Health. The ministry provided details on use to its mental health resources on Tuesday, adding that the average was calculate based on the past five years. Nearly 100,000 users have visited the website since January 2015.
Curiously, the ministry's figures revealed that the majority of users have an IP address registered in France. At 38.45%, this share is greater than that of Luxembourg-based users (27.17%).
Additionally, users based in Germany (11.46%) and Belgium (4.98%) have also consulted the online resource, although on a smaller scale. The overwhelmingly French tendency is confirmed by the times the website is consulted in its French language, namely 74.7%.
Whilst the Ministry of Health has not drawn any conclusions, officials have nevertheless recognised the crucial importance held by the national suicide prevention plan.
Although the national mental health plan has not yet been developed, the ministry recommends extending the national suicide prevention plan in the meantime.
